Billy Markus, a software engineer who created the iconic meme cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, in collaboration with Jackson Palmer, issued a major warning about a potential crypto crash.
He also revealed a list of his favorite cryptocurrencies. DOGE, of course, is on it, apart from a few others.
Markus is known on X and other social media platforms under the pseudonym Shibetoshi Nakamoto, which is a jesting reference to the Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Besides, DOGE also contains a reference to Bitcoin, since Dogecoin is based on the BTC code.
“Crypto crash” warning from Dogecoin creator
Shibetoshi Nakamoto is known for his jesting and sometimes also sarcastic statements on various topics on X, including cryptocurrency price movements and crypto trading. This time, he published a tweet that might be viewed as a major crypto warning if it were not for one nuance.
He warned investors not to open the website of real-estate platform Zillow since it may cause crypto prices, even high ones, to drop instantly: “Remember, no matter how high crypto goes, don’t open zillow, it’ll cause an instant crash.”
Markus added: “All crashes are cuz someone opened zillow,” ironically reflecting on research that noted that real estate goes up in price once the crypto market faces a correction. It is another example of Markus’s ironic attitude to the cryptocurrency market and its volatility.
Commenting on the current crypto market bull run, he jokingly tweeted: “Crypto should go up 8% every day imo.”
